Lime Shrimp
Lime shrimp is a Thai dish that perfectly balances zesty, tangy, and spicy flavors. This dish features fresh, succulent shrimp or prawns that are either stir-fried, lightly poached, or served raw (depending on preference) and marinated in a bold lime-based dressing. The dressing is made with lime juice, fish sauce, garlic, chile pepper, and sometimes a touch of sugar, creating a harmony of sour, salty, spicy, and slightly sweet tastes. Garnished with fresh herbs such as thin slices of shallots, lime shrimp are often served as a refreshing appetizer or a light main course. The dish showcases the Thai culinary tradition of enhancing the natural sweetness of seafood with dynamic and contrasting flavors, making it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
