Prohibited
- Counterfeit goods and pirated items
- Counterfeit notes and coins
- Endangered wildlife
- Gambling tools
- Gold and silver
- Narcotics and drugs
- Plants, seeds, seedlings, bulbs, etc.
- Pornographic material and obscene items and publications
- Radio equipment and transmitters of any kind
Note: Violators of laws related to illicit drugs, e.g., having and holding for use, or being a producer, seller, or transporter are subject to the death sentence.
Restricted
- Alcohol and tobacco products beyond the limits of personal use will require duty payment
- Automobile parts require permit from the Ministry of Industry
- Currency
Thai currency: the amount of Baht 50,000 or more must be reported on departure to Customs, except those traveling to Lao PDR., Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Vietnam are allowed to take out Thai currency not exceeding Baht 500,000.
Foreign currency: any person who brings or takes and aggregate amount of foreign currency exceeding US$20,000 or its equivalent out of or into Thailand shall declare it to Customs. Failure to declare or make false declaration is a criminal offense. - Food and drugs require permit from the Food and Drug Administration
- Home computers may be subject to duty
- Live Animals, pets, and animals products require permit from the Department of Live Stock Development
- Pets
Must be accompanied by a health certificate. Dogs and cats also require rabies certificate (vaccinated date must not less than 30 days, but not longer than 1 year). Confirm exact flight itinerary and arrival date, together with details of the animal(s) (i.e. breed, sex and quantity) prior to transportation with the Bangkok Airport Animal Quarantine Station:

- Weapons and ammunition require permit from the office of National Police
- Wireless transmitters and receivers, telecommunication equipments require permit from the National Telecommunications Commission
- Works of art and antiquities
If the total value of a passenger’s accompanied items is more than 80,000 Baht, the passenger is required to do the Customs formalities at Customs Formality section
