Ayutthaya Historical Park

Ayutthaya served as the Thai capital for 417 years since its founding in 1350 by King U-Thong until 1767. Extending over 2,556 square kilometers and surrounded by three rivers (Chao Phraya, Pa Sak, and Lop Buri), Ayutthaya's architecture is a blend of Khmer (ancient Cambodian) and early Sukhothai styles. It features the ruins of the Old Royal Palace, Chankasem (Front Palace, which now exhibits historical relics), Phom Phet (Diamond Fort), Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit (a huge bronze Buddha image), and ancient forts. There are also over 400 ancient temples, including Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Phra Mahathat, Wat Phra Ram, Wat Phanan Choeng, Wat Lokayasutharam, and Wat Ratchaburana.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

The region's most bustling and lively place, the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market operates across a network of small klhongs (canals) in numerous small rowboats. Vendors sell tropical fruit, vegetables, delicious local food cooked on floating kitchens, ready-to-drink coconut juice, and many more fresh products. Visitors can take leisure rides on traditional long-tailed boats.

San Kamphaeng Hot Spring

Spreading over 16 hectares (40 acres), San Kamphaeng Hot Spring is most popular for its mineral water baths and a complete package of health treatments that attract a large influx of visitors throughout the year. The spring's water has a high sulfur content and an average temperature of 100 degrees Celsius (212 degrees Fahrenheit) at the surface level. The water comes from a deep underground source and is reputed to heal many diseases and improve blood circulation. A lush park with a variety of flowers, shady trees picnic spots, camping sites, and stunning natural landscapes surrounds the spring. Other amenities include swimming pools, restaurants, lodging, handicraft shops, the privately operated Rung Arun Hot Spring, and the Bo Sang Umbrella Village.

On the fourth floor of The Mall Bangkae, Fantasia Village offers family-friendly fun. It has a variety of rides and games as well as an area for making crafts. There also are massage chairs available for tired parents who need to take a rest. Outside on the roof, the mall’s Fantasia Lagoon Water Park has waterslides, pools, spray zones, and a lazy river for cooling off on hot summer days. Athletic types will want to check out Go! Skate, a skatepark on the rooftop of the mall’s parking building B. Of course, the mall also offers a wide range of restaurants and retailers for dining and shopping.
